Mum who ‘threw baby to death from window’ screams ‘Help me!’ as she appears in court
A mother accused of throwing her baby daughter to her
death from a sixth-floor window pleaded for help as she
appeared in court over the killing, it was reported.
Tenisha Fearon reportedly screamed “Oh God. Oh God.
Jesus, man. Help me. Help me. Oh, God” as she was led
away, according to the Daily News.
The 27-year-old is accused of killing six-month-old
Junilah Lawrence after hurling her from a window at her
apartment in the Bronx, New York.
She is believed to have been suffering from a ‘psychotic
episode’ when the incident happened at around 1.30pm
on October 15.
to stand trial will not be ready for another three weeks, the
Daily News reported.
Horrified neighbours claim Fearon dangled her daughter
out of the window before hurling her into the air.
Relatives told reporters the mother allegedly said “the
devil was in her”.
Emergency workers found the baby on the pavement
below and she was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital but
died from her injuries an hour later.
Fearon, 27, was reportedly taken to Bronx Lebanon
Hospital for mental evaluation.
Fearon’s three older children – a 10-year-old boy and two
girls, ages 4 and 8 – were in the apartment at the time but
none were harmed, police said.
