Kinsmen want Amaechi to withdraw from Buhari’s ministerial list
The Rivers People’s Forum has called on former
governor of the state, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi to
kindly withdraw from the ministerial list of President
This, according to them would allow peace reign in the
The Forum made this resolution at an emergency
meeting yesterday in Abuja.
According to the forum, “Rivers state is not an Ikwere
state. You will recall when Rotimi Amaechi was
governor, he told Rivers people, that it will amount to
political slavery for another Ikwere man to succeed
him. He said its even more Luciferian for an Ikwere
man to be a Minister, when he (Amaechi) was a
nominating Wike as a minister, that it doesn’t reflect the
principles of federal character.
“And Amaechi said he was going to correct this mistake
by supporting a riverine candidate to succeed him.
Indeed, it was this sincerity that pulled us to him. And
now we are asking, what has happened to his
sincerity? Is it no longer political slavery or Luciferian
for an Ikwere man to be governor and another minister?
Is Rivers state now a property of the Ikwere people?
“Furthermore, giving the mood of the state, and the
body language of the Nigerian Senate, it is obvious that
the odds are against Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Rivers state to plead with Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi
our leader, to honourably withdraw his nomination as
minister. Our leader Rotimi Amaechi has always said,
that he is not desperate for power, and we believe him.
Therefore, it’s only a withdrawal of his nomination, that
will serve as a proof that indeed Rotimi Amaechi is not
desperate for power.”
